Message From Pastor Patrick

Welcome to our Crossroads family. If you love Jesus or if you are figuring out who He is and what He means to you, this can be a good place to explore belonging to Him and His family. There is no friend like Jesus and when you discover how much He loves you you will never be the same!

Pastor Patrick & Denise Douglas-Henry

Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM)

The AFM is a growing church that prioritises church planting and growth. It has spread to all towns and villages in South Africa. The AFM has 1800 assemblies (churches) in South Africa. Local assemblies are led by a pastor and governing body, of which the pastor is a member. In addition to being a member of the governing body, the pastor is the assembly’s “vision carrier”.

Our Statement Of Faith

Crossroads Christian Fellowship believes and humbly professes that:

it has its origin, continued existence and destiny from God;

it is a revelation of the Church of Jesus Christ, governed by Him as Head, according to the enunciation of the Holy Scriptures, the working of the Holy Spirit and the ministrations instituted by Him.

WE BELIEVE in God eternal, triune, almighty creator, sustainer and ruler of all creation.

WE BELIEVE in God the Father, the author of creation and salvation.

WE BELIEVE in Jesus Christ the only Son of God the Father, true God who for the sake of humanity and its salvation, descended from heaven and became flesh; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born by the virgin Mary; who lived on earth and was crucified, died and was buried, who rose from the dead and ascended to heaven where He is seated at the right hand of the Father.

WE BELIEVE in the Holy Spirit, true God proceeding from the Father and the Son, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgement and leads in all truth.
WE BELIEVE that the Bible is the word of God, written by men as the Holy Spirit inspired them. We believe that it authoritatively proclaims the will of God and teaches us all that is necessary for salvation.

WE BELIEVE that all human beings are created in the image of God; due to their sinful rebellion, this image is marred, that all have sinned before God and it is the will of God that all people should receive salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

WE BELIEVE in the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues as promised to all believers. We believe in the manifestation of the gifts and fruit of the Spirit in the life of a Christian. We believe that a Christian should be a disciple of Jesus Christ living a consecrated and holy life.

WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church which is constituted by the Holy Spirit and consists of born again believers. The Church is responsible for the proclamation and demonstration of the gospel and God’s will to all people. As a charismatic community they fellowship with and edify one another.

WE BELIEVE that the believer’s baptism, by immersion and the Lord’s Supper are instituted by Jesus Christ to be observed by the Church.

WE BELIEVE that at the time appointed by God, Jesus Christ will come to take away his Church.

WE BELIEVE in a day of judgement when Jesus Christ will judge the living and the dead. We believe in the resurrection of the body and eternal life for the righteous and eternal punishment for the wicked. We believe in the new heaven and the new earth where God will reign in glory.

Our Mission

Crossroads Christian Fellowship is called to glorify God by reaching those around us with the Good news of God’s Love in Jesus, building them into a loving, caring family of mature Christ-like believers that by the Power of the Holy Spirit, we can be witnesses sent into the world.

Our church acknowledges the equipping ministries according to Ephesians 4:1-14:

Apostles are the visionary strategists with long-sight who govern, lead, and maintain the mission.

Prophets are the spiritual advisors with foresight who guide, speak, and maintain the vision.

Evangelists are the persuasive communicators with wide-sight who gather, proclaim and maintain the commission.

Pastors are the human resource counsellors with oversight who guard, care with compassion.

Teachers are the logical thinkers/implementers with insight who ground, and equip with passion.

We also acknowledge the charismatic ministry gifts as described in Romans 12:6-9 and 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, and appoint Elders and Deacons as per 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.

Service Times

Our Sunday Morning Services start with 30 minutes of congregational prayer led by an elder at 08h30.

As God’s children we are so grateful to Him for all the ways He is kind to us. Psalm 116:12: “What shall I render unto the Lord for all His benefits unto me?” God owns everything in our lives as He saved us from death. All we have is His. When we bring a part of this to Him we are reminding ourselves of this and that He promised to take complete care of us.

In the Bible language “the storehouse” is where we receive our spiritual food in fellowship with others. In other words, the “storehouse” is our “spiritual home” – where we belong.

In Acts 4:23, when Peter and John were released from prison “they went to their company”. We should belong where we receive our spiritual food.

Those who have studied God’s Word have discovered that tithing is a blessing and not a burden. In partaking of the Lord’s Table we “shew forth” His death. In bringing our tithes into the storehouse we “witness that we believe that Jesus is alive” Hebrews 7:8.

When a person receives this revelation, Philippians 3:10 takes on a new meaning, as also does Romans 8:11. In other words, tithing and giving of offerings is not just a material thing, it has deep spiritual meaning.

Having learned how to surrender the first tenth of our income, cuts the grip of materialism in our lives. We learn experientially how to present our bodies a living sacrifice, wholly acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service. Romans 12:1

We cannot sing the hymn “I surrender all” if we have not learned to surrender the first tenth of our income. The Lord loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7
